As a ‘family celebrant’ I experience ALL the love stories – the Joy of naming a newborn, the hope of the ‘happy ever after’ at a wedding, and the Evidence of Love at a funeral. I have a unique perspective on life, incredible emotional intelligence, and over a decade of ceremonial experience marking these rites of passage.

For those moving into the role of an elder within their family or community, this ceremony celebrates your wisdom and the generations who surround you. It’s about honouring your past and stepping into this new chapter with pride and clarity. It does blend in a little with the ‘empty nester’ and it also touches on the loss of your own parents – as YOU are now the biggest ‘grown up’ so to speak; so we talk about grieving and holding your loved ones in our hearts too. Timing-wise, I tend to do this ceremony when ‘all the firsts have finished’ after you lose a parent. This ceremony, like all my re-claiming if self’ ceremonies, are about appreciating your past, owning your present, and visualising and setting intentions for your future.
